Pease International Tradeport Redevelopment
Portsmouth, NH
After Pease Air Force Base was identified for closure under the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) process, RKG Associates and a consulting team were retained by the Pease Redevelopment Commission, a state-created agency, to prepare a plan for the eventual redevelopment and management of the site.

During the initial planning period RKG served as the consultant responsible for economic, real estate, financial and land use analysis, as well as management of public engagement and outreach. Among the issues addressed in RKG's analysis were the market potential of the base's almost four million square feet of building space, local housing needs, financing options and strategic marketing initiatives. RKG assisted the Pease Development Authority (PDA), the state agency charged with implementing the plan, in acquisition negotiations, ongoing refinement of financing, and preparation of the overall marketing strategy for the facility.

Since acquisition of the site by the PDA, over $1 billion in public and private money has been invested in establishing a world class business and aviation park, resulting in the creation of over 5,000 new jobs at more than 160 businesses, and the renovation or construction of almost 3.8 million square feet of business and industrial space.
